Irish team β official cowardice
Despite an Israeli smear attack on the Irish teamβs manager, the Irish FA ran scared from holding the tie in Ireland but were not willing to refuse to play it at all. As a result and because of Israeli fan violence, Israelβs βhomeβ game will take place in Hungary on Sunday 27 September, with Irelandβs βhomeβ fixture a week later behind closed doors in Serbia.
Activist photographer βBetter than Realβ was on the scene to photograph the event for the Canary:
London Irish organiser Frank Glynn explained the outrage β and said Israel will feel at home in Serbia, which has its own history of genocide:
Irish comic and anti-genocide activist Tadgh Hickey, who is playing a prominent role in the Stop the Game campaign, also published several videos demanding the cancellation of the match.
