CHICAGO β€” Can the β€œIceman” handle the heat?

Fans of Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams will find out when he appears this week on β€œHot Ones,” the wildly popular interview series where celebrities answer questions from host Sean Evans while downing increasingly spicy chicken wings.

The episode will air at 10 a.m. Thursday on the show’s YouTube channel.

Evans, a lifelong Bears fan, grew up in the Chicago area and graduated high school in Crystal Lake. He’s a University of Illinois alum.

His sports allegiance is perhaps most famously tied to the White Sox. Evans returned to Chicago last month for β€œHot Ones Day” at Rate Field, where he met fans before the game and celebrated with special β€œHot Ones”-White Sox fused merchandise.

But the Bears have also highlighted Evans’ devotion to the team. In 2022, the team welcomed Evans to announce the Bears’ second-round selection during the NFL Draft in Las Vegas.Β

Evans has hosted hundreds of celebrities since β€œHot Ones” debuted in 2015, including athletes, musicians, actors and many other public figures.Β

Williams is apparently the second Chicago athlete to appear on the show. Former Cubs slugger Anthony Rizzo was interviewed in 2015.

The Bears quarterback joins a short list of other NFL players who have taken on the β€œHot Ones” challenge, including Sauce Gardner, Tyreek Hill and Khalil Mack, a former Bears player who appeared on a spin-off episode while with the Chargers.

Williams is entering his third NFL season as the centerpiece of a Bears team that’s coming off a promising 2025 season and heading into the 2026 season with elevated expectations.Β

He’s already shown he can handle the heat in football, earning the β€œIceman” nickname last year for his cool, clutch play.Β

Williams led the Bears to seven fourth-quarter comebacks last season, an NFL record for a quarterback in their first two seasons. That included a pair of dramatic comebacks against the Packers in the regular season and playoffs.

Some fans on social media worried the β€œHot Ones” appearance could impact his performance on the field.

β€œDude. Don’t wreck yourself ! Please,” one fan posted on X.
