A vintage goods convention, ThriftCon, is coming to Seattle, and they’re hosting a pre-party in Ballard at Soft Goods Vintage on Friday, Sept. 11.

ThriftCon is a buy-sell-trade event that’s dedicated to vintage clothing, retro collectibles, and vintage culture. The convention is happening Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Seattle Convention Center from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., with over 100 vendors planned for the one-day event. The convention will bring together vendors selling clothing from several decades, along with accessories, records, collectibles, home goods, and furniture.

To get ready for the event, Ballard vintage store Soft Goods (4905 Leary Ave NW) will host an official ThriftCon pre-party with flash tattoos, food trucks, drinks, and music.

Soft Goods will be among the vendors at Saturday’s convention and is also featured in β€œThe Vault,” a section showcasing vintage graphic T-shirts selected from established collectors. Other attractions include more than 4,000 pounds of unsorted vintage clothing priced starting at $10 per pound, a Y2K-focused womenswear section and a performance and meet-and-greet with rapper Twista. Admission tickets are available online

The pre-party at Soft Goods, which ThriftCon is calling Tee Time, will feature the following:

Ballard is becoming a destination for Seattle vintage lovers: Next month will kick off the inaugural Vintage and Secondhand Crawl on October 2-4, featuring nine local stores and four bars/cafes. Shoppers can collect stamps in a crawl passport for a chance to win a prize.

Fellow Ballard vintage store Rhaay will also be among the vendors at Saturday’s convention. Rhaay and Soft Goods are both participating in Ballard’s Vintage & Secondhand Crawl in October.

Friday’s Tee Time party will run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and is free to attend.
