The City’s Dispatch Bureau Dramatically Reduces 911 Call Wait Times Since 2022, Audit Finds

Portland’s Bureau of Emergency Communications reduced its average 911 call wait time from 77 seconds in July 2022 to 18 seconds in January 2026, according to a city audit of the bureau released Wednesday.
