The billionaire backing Lisa Demuth’s run for governor

House Speaker Lisa Demuth’s gubernatorial campaign is being bankrolled by the owner of Wisconsin-based shipping and packaging supplies company Uline, the Minnesota Reformer reports.

A national political action committee largely funded by Republican megadonor Richard Uihlein has pumped about $1.1 million into a PAC associated with Demuth’s campaign, giving her a significant fundraising advantage over her GOP gubernatorial primary opponents Kendall Qualls and Mike Lindell.

Demuth’s campaign, nor the PAC supporting her campaign, responded to the Reformer’s requests for comments.

Members of the “Minnesota 15” were arraigned in federal court Wednesday on charges that they conspired to interfere with immigration enforcement during Operation Metro Surge, MPR News reports.
