Upcoming housing and land use-related events:

• Tuesday, July 7 at 9:30 a.m.: The Midtown South Community Council will hold a meeting where city planner Ron Shiffman will present an analysis of the mayor’s housing plan, while Jasmine Kerr from the New Economy Project will speak about the latest version of the Community Opportunity to Purchase Act. • Wednesday, July 9 at 11 a.m.: The City Council’s Subcommittee on Landmarks, Public Sitings, Resiliency and Dispositions will meet regarding the following properties: Public School 15 Annex, Church of St. Mary, Lithuanian Alliance Building, and 511 West 171st St. More here.
• Thursday, July 9, 2 p.m.: Culture Lab LIC and the Design Trust to Public Space will host “Untaped: Removing Barriers for Public Space Programming,” a panel conversation on how the city can cut red tap and make its open spaces more accessible to the public. More here.
• Friday, July 10 at 6 p.m.: Defend Harlem will hold an opening reception for “Still Here: Harlem Eternal” a multimedia exhibit that will be on display at The Children’s Art Carnival through September, organized as a response to “the ongoing effects of displacement, rising housing costs, and gentrification impacting longtime Harlem communities.” More here.
• Saturday, July 11 at 11 a.m.: Brooklyn NAACP, Assembly Member Stefani Zinerman, the Office of the Attorney General, the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office and AARP will host a Deed Theft Town Hall with lawyers on‑site, resources, and an expert panel. More here.
• Monday, July 13 at 1 p.m.: The City Planning Commission will hold a public review session (the agenda has not yet been posted). More here.

NYC Affordable Housing Lotteries: The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) are closing lotteries on the following subsidized buildings over the next week.

• Peninsula 1221 & 1225 Spofford Avenue, Bronx, for households earning between $19,235 – $166,250 (last day to apply is 7/7)
• 534 Third Avenue Apartments, Manhattan, for households earning between $38,983 – $238,160 (last day to apply is 7/7)
• 1938 Prospect Avenue Apartments, Bronx, for households earning between $76,629 – $122,160(last day to apply is 7/7)
• 1060 Prospect Avenue, Bronx, for households earning between $81,669 – $146,560 (last day to apply is 7/9)
• 1004 Summit Avenue Apartments, Bronx, for households earning between $75,840 – $122,160 (last day to apply is 7/13)
