‘ICE lied to me’: Tucson asylum-seeker deported to Russia after weeks in ICE detention

A Tucson man who sought asylum from Russia due to his opposition to the invasion of Ukraine said he agreed to leave the U.S. this week, nearly a month after being held by ICE amid a measles outbreak in an Arizona detention center. Officials claimed “Vlad” was deported.
