Hongkongers gathered for a dance-off final in Tsim Sha Tsui on Sunday, with Bobby, a dancer showcasing Bruce Lee-inspired moves, winning the event.

The final of Red Bullβs Dance Your Style global competition will be held on October 24 in Switzerland.

Sundayβs contest outside the Hong Kong Cultural Centre saw 16 of the cityβs top street dancers face a crowd-voting format.

Registered spectators voted on which dancers advanced to the next round.

A live DJ played mainstream music for the competitors at random, drawing on hip-hop and pop tracks.

Bobby, or Lam Yuet-wing, was the Asia-Pacific popping champion at the Czech Republicβs Street Dance Kemp in 2016. Popping is known for its hip-hop-influenced jerky robotic movements.

He also qualified for the Dance Your Style global final in 2023, where South Korean waacking star Waackxxxy took the crown.
