Donald Trump has reportedly left JD Vance a letter in the Resolute Desk with “very firm instructions” for what to do if something happens to him, and given Trump’s past comments about wiping Iran “off the face of the earth,” that is not exactly a comforting thought. Trump and his allies are trying to frame this as strength that China, Russia, and Iran will understand, but it really sounds like another bizarre and dangerous reminder that Trump’s foreign policy is built around threats, ego, and his growing obsession with his own mortality.
