Ballard Music & Seafoodfest returns July 10β12: Hereβs what to know
The heart of Ballard will once again fill with live music, seafood, vendors and thousands of festivalgoers next weekend as Ballard Music & Seafoodfest returns for its 52nd year.
The free three-day festival, running July 10β12, marks the debut of the eventβs new name, reflecting a greater emphasis on live music while continuing the neighborhood tradition of seafood, arts and crafts, family activities and community celebrations. Organizers expect more than 75,000 people to attend throughout the weekend.
This yearβs event builds on changes announced earlier this year, when the longtime Ballard SeafoodFest was renamed Ballard Music & Seafoodfest. The Ballard Alliance said the rebrand reflects the festivalβs evolution over the past five decades, with live music becoming a central part of the weekend alongside its longtime seafood traditions. The refreshed branding also includes a new logo and updated visual identity inspired by Ballardβs maritime heritage.
The festivities begin Friday evening with a neighborhood kickoff party featuring live music on the Blundstone Seattle Main Stage, a beer and cocktail garden, food trucks and a VIP lounge. By Saturday morning, Ballard Avenue will transform into the full festival, with dozens of food vendors, an arts and crafts market, childrenβs activities and live performances continuing throughout the weekend. Sundayβs lineup also includes the Ballard Farmers Market and the annual lutefisk eating contest.
Hereβs a look at what to expect.
